It didn’t take long for COVID-19 to impact local schools, as the Halton District School Board (HDSB) has confirmed that a student at Brant Hills Public School has tested positive for the virus after just 5 days back in classes.
The elementary school’s administration sent letters to the families of students at Brant Hills over the weekend to notify them of the confirmed positive case, which was not necessarily contracted at the school itself.

Close contacts at particular risk of exposure have already been contacted by Halton Region Public Health and instructed to self-isolate at home.
Additionally, the school has said its custodial staff has conducted a thorough cleaning and disinfection of the building, and Brant Hills remains open for classes.
