You can play disc golf for free in Burlington

Even though it’s the middle of winter, many people in the city are still looking to get outside for some recreation time.

The City of Burlington is making an effort to encourage outdoor winter activities in order to keep active during the colder months.

To add some variety to the list of safe outdoor activities, the city is offering free frisbee golf at the course at Tyandaga Park

Frisbee golf involves throwing a disc at targets trying to rack up the lowest score, similar to regular golf.

The nine hole course at Tyandaga is open for free rounds from January until early spring; just BYOF (bring your own frisbee).

Unfortunately, at this time, the course is not being supported in order to provide comprehensive team play, but visitors can bring their own disc for a short game at any time between dawn and dusk seven days a week.

As long as players are following the posted rules and guidelines, it could be a fun winter activity to break apart those winter blues.
