Hamilton on the hunt for 2018 Christmas trees

It might only be the second week of September, but Hamilton is already planning for the holiday season. With only 15 weeks until Christmas, the city has officially begun looking for three picture-perfect trees to display across the city.

Hamilton is asking its residents who either own a Christmas tree farm or have a large Spruce tree on their property to consider donating it to the city.

Each tree must be at least 40 feet tall, be accessible from the street and be clear from any overhead wires.

The trees will be cut down and transported at no cost to the owners.

There’s been no official word on when the trees will be picked up or when they’ll be available for viewing. That being said, it has been confirmed that the trees will be on display at Gore Park, City Hall and Memorial Square in Dundas.

If you or someone you know has a large tree that’d make the perfect holiday centerpiece, please call 905-546-2424, ext. 4392.

Are you still in a summer mood or are you ready for the cooler months? What other kind of holiday decorations does the city need? Let us know in the comments.
