Airport Road closed this week

All lanes of Airport Road West between Glancaster Road and the highway 6 ramp will be closed this week.

The road must be closed to replace and install new cross culverts. As fall turns into winter, we can expect plenty of rain and snow. The culverts will not only give runoff a place to go, but will help prevent flooding and ensure safer roads.

The closure begins Monday, October 29 and installation is expected to be completed by Friday, November 16. Until the project is completed, motorists are advised to use an alternate route.

Flying out of the John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport between now and November 16? Don’t worry, the installation of culverts won’t hinder your air travel – full access to the airport will be maintained throughout the duration of construction.

Do you travel down Airport Road in your daily commute? How will this closure affect you? Let us know in the comments.
