It’s New Year’s Eve and for many, that means a night out on the town. To help you get to and from your celebrations safely, both Go Transit (Metrolinx) and HSR are running free rides this evening! This means no tickets, fare, or Presto cards will be required.
The HSR is offering rides from 6 pm until 2:30 am. A description of the routes and a list of which ones offer extended service can be found here. For real-time updates on bus routes, follow their Twitter handle @HSRnow.
Looking for a ride on New Year's Eve? Take the @hsr for FREE after 6pm! And we're staying up late to get you home safely. Details: https://t.co/TneZOvN6Ek

Many GTHA transit providers are following suit tonight, with the UP Express, TTC, MiWay, Brampton Transit, York Region Transit, Durham Region Transit, and Oakville Transit all offering extended hours and free admission. Note that Burlington Transit will still require a fare.
Tomorrow (January 1st), both HSR and Go Transit will run on a Sunday schedule. Remember that drinking is prohibited on public transport and that a train ride home will not sober you up, so make sure to plan accordingly. There’s no excuse for driving impaired.
Happy New Year’s!!
