Barry’s Jewellers is closing and taking up to 70% off everything

One of Hamilton’s most iconic jewellery stores has announced that they’re shutting down, with locals swarming the store for door-crashing liquidation deals.
Barry’s Jewellers, located on 730 Upper James St in Hamilton, made the announcement early this morning (October 17th) that after 33 years in business, the popular jewellery store will be permanently shutting their doors.

A representative informed Urbanicity that the reason for the closure has to do with the owner’s age. “Barry is getting old. The business was up for sale and we were hoping for a buyer before announcing the closing sale […] but we just don’t have a buyer as of right now,” said the spokesperson.
The decision to close Barry’s Jewellers also affects their second location in Mapleview Mall (900 Maple Avenue, Burlington).
In order to clear all inventory, Barry’s is currently running a massive closing sale at both locations with up to 70% off rings, necklaces, earrings, and more — while quantities last.

The sale is running from now until December 31st, 2019 at which point both stores will close for good.
If you have warranties for any purchases made at Barry’s, the store can only service them until the end of the year at which point you’ll have to either contact the designer directly or go through a retail partner if modifications are such that it needs to be sent back to the manufacturer. Each designer is different so be sure to clarify this with a representative if you have purchased or will be purchasing any jewellery from the store.
Barry’s has been a Hamilton staple for decades and while it’s sad to see them go, there’s solace in knowing that their jewellery will continue to create memories far into the future.
