Hamilton Airport introduces new ‘Made in Hamilton’ food and drink offerings

Weary travellers arriving at Hamilton’s John C. Munro International Airport will now immediately be greeted with a (literal) taste of the city, as the airport has recently introduced a number of locally-made food and drink offerings available on site.
In a partnership between the Hamilton Airport and Equal Parts Hospitality, a new ‘Made in Hamilton’ culinary approach has been added to the airport’s offerings with the official opening of Detour YHM, an offshoot of Hamilton’s excellent Detour Coffee Roasters that will offer a diverse range of Hamiltonian goodness.
The line-up begins with products from a pretty solid trifecta of recognized local independent brands: Collective Arts Brewing, Dear Grain Bakery and, of course, delicious Detour Coffee. This mighty trio will give incoming and outgoing travellers the chance to enjoy Hamilton’s best craft beer, coffee, sandwiches, salads, soups, snacks, and sweets.
Better still, this is just the beginning, according to the announcement on the Hamilton International Airport website. “Other small business brands plan to be introduced as Detour YHM evolves its products in response to changing consumer needs,” they explain.
Hamilton International Airport is introducing this expansion of its food and drink offerings due to the airport’s substantial continued growth, with a passenger increase of 118% and a goods movement increase of 20% over the last two years. And what better way to responds to that demand with offerings that are uniquely Hamiltonian?
Simply put, this new initiative is basically one big Hamilton culinary flex, and we’re very much here for it.
Detour YHM will be open at John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport daily from 4 am to 8 pm.
