As of this evening (November 7th), Hamilton’s popular Locke Street as well as Charlton Avenue have fully re-opened to two-way traffic.
Some surrounding streets with temporary closures “will be re-opened over the coming days”, according to a news release from the City.

HSR route #7 will continue to run on the existing temporary route until work is completed on the new Locke Street bus stops.
Construction on Locke Street has been a lengthy one. Starting in March of this year, the work completed includes the following:
To celebrate the revamped street, there will be three great events to look forward to.
A formal ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Wednesday, November 13th with speakers Mayor Eisenberger, Councillor Maureen Wilson, and Heidi Vanderkwaak of Donut Monster.
The Christmas tree lighting ceremony will take place Friday, November 15th including live music, treats, carriage rides, and special appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Then on Saturday, November 30th the community grand re-opening celebration will take place which will feature swag bag giveaways, street corner activations, as well as walking tours of Locke Street.
