The Gore Park Christmas Market and free Ferris Wheel is returning to Hamilton

You don’t need to travel all the way to Toronto’s Distillery District to enjoy a killer holiday market, because the Gore Park Christmas Market is returning to bring heaps of holiday happiness to Hamilton.
Presented by the City of Hamilton and the Downtown Hamilton BIA, the open-air, free-to-attend Gore Park Christmas Market brings a little slice of wintery paradise to Gore Park from December 6th to 8th.
The whole thing ceremoniously kicks off on Friday December 6th at 5 pm with the lighting of the storeys-high Christmas Tree of Hope, at which point the Christmas Market will officially be open for you to explore a host of local vendors selling great gift ideas, enjoy live entertainment and DJs, and fill up on food & drink (because Christmas Market-ing works up a solid appetite). Along with some light bites on offer, market-goers will also be able to sip on hot chocolate, hot cider, and mulled wine at the Market’s fully-licensed bar.
Some of the many outstanding vendors on offer at this year’s Christmas Market will include Toast Wine Bar, Hamont Doodles, Pink Posh Fox, Abominable Ink, Lucky Paw Pet Co., SuburbZen, Maisy’s Pearl Oyster Purveyors, Waxing Moon Co., CiCi’s Raw Beauty, and of course, Redchurch Café + Gallery; the beloved Gore Park coffee shop and arts space that plays a large role in the festivities this year.
“Following the success of last year’s event, we’re really excited for the festivities this year. Each day will be a little different; we have artists, plays, crafts for kids and different vendors every day. It’s a great way for Hamiltonians of all ages to enjoy and support their community, meet local businesses and come together to celebrate the season,” says Redchurch owner Graziella Panessa.
Another particular highlight of the Market this year is the return of the free Ferris Wheel, which will remain in Gore Park to offer free rides and sweet city views every day through December 23rd from 12 pm to 8 pm.
And if you’re feeling particularly generous this holiday season, CHML/Y108/Energy 95.3 Radio will be on hand on December 6th from 6 am to 6 pm to accept donations of cash and unwrapped toys for their Children’s Fund.
It’s going to be one of the can’t-miss Hamilton holiday events this season, so don’t skip out on this weekend’s Gore Park Christmas Market! Unless you want to end up on the naughty list.
The Gore Park Christmas Market kicks off on Friday December 6th at 5 pm with the Christmas tree lighting, then continues on Saturday December 7th from 11 am to 6 pm, and finishes on Sunday December 8th from 11 am to 5 pm. Admission is free, and more details can be found here.
