Grey Harbour Tattoo launches GoFundMe in wake of James North arson attack

James North’s tucked-away tattoo parlour Grey Harbour Tattoo has started up a GoFundMe page after suffering devastating damage from a series of fires started by a local arsonist on Tuesday evening.

The suspect, a 32-year-old male, was arrested by Hamilton Police on Wednesday after fires that affected James North staples La Bichette, Born & Raised, and Grey Harbour Tattoo. Thankfully, nobody was injured or harmed by the incident.

While all three spots suffered considerable damages, Grey Harbour reportedly got the worst of it as the fire spread from La Bichette, which is tightly attached to the tattoo parlour near the corner of James North and Cannon.

In an attempt to cover the losses from the fire and COVID-19 shutdown in general, a GoFundMe has been initiated for Grey Harbour with the goal of raising $25,000 in support of their business during an extremely difficult time made even more difficult by this act of arson.

“Recently this shop has gone through great loss due to the fire on top of that,” said GoFundMe organizer Brock Ryan. “Times are hard right now but anything you can spare will go towards building a new Grey Harbour in the future.”

The fundraiser has already taken off, with an outpouring of Hamiltonian supporters helping to raise over $10,000 within a single day. Check out the GoFundMe and make a donation to Grey Harbour Tattoo here.
