Hamilton’s Waterfront trail is now closed

Another closure due to COVID-19 safety precautions. The City of Hamilton announced today that the Waterfront Trail is now closed to pedestrians between the Burlington Lift Bridge and Confederation Park.

Should folks venture outside for fresh air and recreation, it is encouraged that they stay close to home, keep a two meter distance from others, and wash their hands upon returning indoors.

Any trails that remain open, such as the Rail Trail, should only be used for essential travel such as getting to and from work. Any travel at all, really, should be minimized to essential trips only.

Dog parks, play equipment, escarpment stairs, Confederation Beach Park, as well as waterfalls and their corresponding trails are all closed. The Hamilton Beach Trail, Lafarge 2000 Trail, the Breezeway Trail in Confederation Beach Park, the Dofasco 2000 Trail, and Chippewa Trail are included in the closures.

Now is not the time for casual exploration — keep it close to home, Hamilton.
