This Hamilton Swiss Chalet is giving free meals to doctors and nurses

While the COVID-19 outbreak has brought plenty of fear, anxiety, and uncertainty to Hamilton and the world beyond it, it has also inspired some noteworthy acts of generosity, humanity, and community.

One such is example is the Swiss Chalet location in Hamilton at 735 Queenston Road, which is doing something pretty awesome for the city’s frontline healthcare workers.

A photo posted by Krista Leigh on Facebook, which now has nearly 3,500 shares, shows the Swiss Chalet location’s outdoor signage featuring a prominent message that the restaurant is currently offering free dinner to local doctors and nurses as they bravely fight on the frontlines of this global pandemic.

The heartwarming gesture is one of numerous similar ones in Hamilton, including Paramount Fine Foods’ recently announced initiative to offer complimentary meals to those experiencing financial and food hardship as a result of the pandemic.

All in all, initiatives like this highlight one of the most important messages to carry through the COVID-19 pandemic: to get through this, we all have to do it together.
