Employee at Husky gas station on Upper Ottawa is positive for COVID-19

According to management, an employee working at the Husky gas station at 965 Upper Ottawa Street has tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee’s last shift at the gas station was May 18th, and they are currently self-isolating and recovering at home.

Though the positive employee has not been at the Upper Ottawa Husky in 11 days, the gas station says they have nonetheless taken steps out an abundance of caution by closing the location for a full deep cleaning and sanitization procedure.

The full cleaning took place on Wednesday, and the Husky location was able to reopen their doors on Thursday.

Husky has also stated that they have generally increased health and safety measures at the gas station for customers and staff, including more intensive cleaning procedures and more regular sanitization of contact surfaces such as door handles, countertops, pin pads on debit machines, and nozzles at the gas pumps.
