Two Hamilton restaurants are giving free meals to postal workers today

Two hot Hamilton restaurants are back at it once again, pounding out delicious meals and feeding the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now over a month into this generous initiative, James South staples Mezcal and One Duke have been joining forces one day a week to single out a different type of essential worker in Hamilton and provide them with free meals as a gesture of gratitude.
Past weeks have seen these to beloved local restaurants paying tribute to firefighters, bank employees, retirement staff, paramedics, and HSR operators.
This week? They’re recognizing the invaluable service of our local postal workers.
“These workers have been around through rain, shine & COVID-19 to ensure we get what we need from around the world,” said the restaurants in a social media post.

It’s undoubtedly a group worthy of heavy recognition; not only are postal workers still out there putting themselves at risk daily so the rest of Hamilton can stay home and stay safe, they are also reckoning with much larger volumes of letter and parcel delivery than usual with such a huge uptick of locals ordering products online rather than venturing out into public to shop.
Local postal workers of all kinds are invited to stop by either Mezcal or One Duke today (Wednesday May 27th) between 3 pm and 8 pm to grab a well-deserved meal on the house!
