Collective Arts Fest has been cancelled for 2020

If you were one of many Hamiltonians looking forward to raising a glass of some of the world’s finest craft beer this summer, I’ve got some sad news for you: Collective Arts Brewing has just announced that the hotly-anticipated 2020 Collective Arts Fest has been completely cancelled.
Originally known as Liquid Art Fest and entering what would have been its third official year, Collective Arts Fest is easily one of the most exciting craft beer events in the province.
Bringing in kegs upon kegs of world-class beer from worldwide breweries and tossing in some killer art and live entertainment for good measure, Collective Arts Fest has become a festival that attracts hordes of craft beer nerds from well outside of Hamilton’s borders.

As the realities of the COVID-19 pandemic initially set in earlier this year, Collective Arts changed the original date of the festival – which was previously set for June 6th – to a new date at the end of August as a precautionary measure.
However, with no indication that large gatherings will be safe by that time, the difficult decision to cancel Collective Arts Fest was made.
It’s a heartbreaker to be sure, but hardly surprising; virtually every large event for the remainder of 2020 has been cancelled amid the uncertainties of the COVID-19 pandemic, and hosting a festival that attracts hordes of people is just too risky a move at this point.
Ultimately, it makes perfect sense why a large event like Collective Arts Fest can’t go on this year; even though it’s an outdoor affair, it also brings in pretty sizeable crowds that leave little room for proper social distancing. Add the liberating effects of alcohol to the mix, and the risk level only increases.
Hopefully, Collective Arts Fest will make its return full force in 2021, when large crowds are able to share in the joy of a collective live experience once again.
Those who originally purchased tickets for the 2020 Collective Arts Fest will be refunded.
