Hamilton’s neighbours Brantford and Brant County have both voted to bring in a mandatory mask bylaw.
Both of the municipalities made the decision in a vote during city council meetings on Tuesday night.
The bylaws are similar to any others that have been passed in the area that would require people to wear face coverings while visiting indoor public spaces and riding public transit.
On July 14, 2020, County of Brant Council passed a bylaw which will require people to wear a face covering when accessing enclosed public spaces.
The Face Covering bylaw comes into effect on July 20, 2020.
