Hamilton’s iconic Gage Park Fountain just can’t seem to catch a break.
After one of the heritage landmark’s original, decorative bronze turtles was stolen and mysteriously returned to its resting place earlier this year, a new mystery local with a clear penchant for pranking decided to turn the Gage Park Fountain into the city’s largest bubble bath at the top of this week.

As discovered on Monday morning, anonymous pranksters decided to load up the fountain with tons of bath bombs, creating a gigantic and relentlessly foamy mess throughout the fountain’s expansive body and spillway.
The Hamilton Spectator captured and shared numerous photos of the soapy explosion, which sat in the fountain for much of the day yesterday where it caught the perplexed attention of countless passersby.
No word yet on if any potential suspects for the incident have been found, nor if any locals took advantage of the prank to take an extremely weird bubble bath in the midst of Hamilton’s lingering heatwave.
