Ontario Education Minister Stephen Lecce announced the reopening plan to less than favourable reviews with educators and parents expressing their concern with a safe return to school in September. Class sizes is the one area that causes the most concern with elementary classes remaining with normal numbers of between 20 and 30 students per class.
The Elementary Teacher Federation of Ontario started an ad campaign last week to spread awareness of the lack of support educators are receiving in order to keep them safe in schools. They are fighting for more funding to provide the appropriate equipment, protocols, and procedures to keep the virus from spiking in communities.
