Ontario reported fewer than 100 confirmed COVID-19 cases each day for a full week

Ontario reported 79 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, which completed a full week of the province having fewer than 100 cases each day

Cumulative numbers of positive cases reached 40,046 since the pandemic started back in January.

The number of active cases also continues to go down with 148 marked as resolved over the weekend. Ontario now has 36,279 total resolved cases.

Public health units across the province have reported their lowest numbers in months. Over the last week, 30 of the 34 health units in Ontario have reported fewer than 5 new cases each day.

Eighteen health units even reported zero new cases. Ottawa Public Health, Peel Public Health, York Region Public Health, and Toronto Public Health were the four units that reported more than five cases.

While these numbers are encouraging, Monday did see a slight uptick for daily case reporting, with 115 new confirmed cases reported province-wide today.

Hamilton had fewer than five cases each day for a week with the total numbers at 908. The city currently has 899 confirmed cases and 9 probable cases with 841 reportedly resolved. There have been 45 deaths.

As the province continues to reopen, cases among those aged 20 to 39 have seen the highest spike with 32 new cases on Sunday.
