Not too far into the fall semester, Hamilton’s Mohawk College has confirmed its first case of COVID-19 related to the school.
A release from the City of Hamilton and local public health explains that the positive case is associated with Mohawk College’s Stoney Creek campus, and that the school is following health & safety protocols and working with public health on contact tracing.

The infected person is currently self-isolating at home. However, it is not clear whether they are a student, staff member, or otherwise as no private details or identifiers are being released publicly related to this positive case.
It has also not been made publicly known when the infected person was last on campus, who they may have come in contact with, or where they could have been originally infected.
As far as the status COVID-19 in the city’s post-secondary institutions, this case follows two recent confirmed cases at McMaster University: one found in a graduate student on campus, the other in a staff member.
