Hamilton Police identify remains of Holly Ellsworth-Clark

Nearly eight months after Holly Ellsworth-Clark went missing, Hamilton Police have identified her remains in a devastating conclusion to the 27 year-old’s disappearance.

On Tuesday, a worker noticed the body floating in the water at Hamilton Harbour and Pier 11 and notified local police. With the assistance of Hamilton Fire, the Hamilton Police recovered the body and, as it had been in the water for a prolonged period of time, sent it to the Centre for Forensic Sciences to be identified.

The body was officially identified as Holly Ellsworth-Clark and confirmed to the public by Hamilton Police in a statement released on Thursday afternoon. Ellsworth-Clark’s family has been notified, and Hamilton police do not believe the death to be suspicious in nature.

Ellsworth-Clark, a musician and recent Hamilton transplant with roots in Calgary, was last seen leaving her home in emotional distress near the corner of Sanford Avenue and Barton Street on January 11th.

Since then, an active search by police officers, Ellsworth-Clark’s family & friends, as well as Hamilton community members has been ongoing, with countless tips, leads, and potential sightings leading the investigation down an overwhelming number of paths.

On top of that, a Facebook group called Holly Clark Search has remained active to this day, with Ellsworth-Clark’s father Dave Clark and friend Elle McFearsin continuing to rigorously lead the search and provide updates to the public.

Hamilton Police ask anyone who may have information that could help the ongoing investigation to contact Detective John Obrovac at 905-546-3816. Anonymous tips can be directed to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477.
