Holly Ellsworth-Clark’s family to host candlelight vigil in Hamilton

Following an intense 8-month search for Holly Ellsworth-Clark – a search that recently ended in devastating tragedy – the family of the 27 year-old Hamilton-based musician has announced that they will be flying into the city from Calgary to host a candlelight vigil in her honour.
The public candlelight vigil is set to take place in Woodlands Park on September 26th at 7 pm, where a local artist had previous painted a mural of Holly on a public art wall. Attendees are asked to bring a candle, as well as adhere to the usual COVID-19 safety measures including masks, physical distancing, and sanitizing.

Ellsworth-Clark’s parents Dave Clark and Greta Ellsworth, alongside friend and employer Elle McFearsin, headed the search for the recent Hamilton transplant after she suddenly left her Sanford Avenue home in distress back on January 11th.
The months-long search that followed saw local police, community members, and Ellsworth-Clark’s own family and friends pursuing a countless list of leads, tips, and possible scenarios in Hamilton and beyond; all of which led to frustrating dead ends.
The search came to a heartbreaking end last Tuesday, when a body was found floating in Hamilton Harbour and was sent to the Centre for Forensic Sciences for identification. On Thursday, the body was confirmed to be the remains of Ellsworth-Clark.
The tragic conclusion sent a shockwave through the Hamilton community; particularly for the countless residents who invested themselves, their time, and their energy to the diligent mission to bring Holly home.
