Though it was a very different Thanksgiving for countless Hamiltonians who may not have had the chance to gather with loved ones for the first time, one local teen made the most of the occasion and ended up getting tons of attention on social media for it.
14-year-old Hamilton resident Raihan Audu took the reins on his family’s Thanksgiving dinner, cooking the entire thing himself over the span of two days with numerous delicious-looking dishes including sweet potato casserole, green beans, corn on the cob, mac & cheese; and of course, a turkey.

But little did Audu know, his efforts in the kitchen would quickly become a social media sensation, amassing over 790,000 likes on Twitter after Audu’s brother posted photos of the dinner to his account.
“4 years in a row! My brother the culinary GOAT at 14,” said Audu’s brother under the handle @Kingflacko3 on Twitter, also implying that Audu has been helping his family with Thanksgiving dinner since he was 10 years old and leading the way more each year.
Audu, who originally came to Canada with his Nigeria-born parents in 2010, began cooking early on and his worked his way up from simpler recipies to more complex and involved dishes over the years.
Going forward, the 14-year-old plans to post his culinary efforts and favourite recipes to his new TikTok account under the username raihancooks.
