Christmas trees are starting to go up around Hamilton

The holiday season has officially begun after a Christmas tree was crane-lifted into place at Market Square in downtown Dundas.

The 25-foot tall Colorado blue spruce arrived by flatbed truck on Thursday and is scheduled to be decorated over the next few days.

Dundas isn’t the only place that is receiving a Christmas tree this year as the city’s annual tree installation began this week.

A tree will also be installed outside city hall on Friday and the Gore Park tree will be put up on November 19th.

Many of the annual tree lighting ceremonies have been moved online with digital events being announced later this month.

However, one event that won’t be happening in 2020 will be the Hamilton Santa Claus Parade. It was announced a few months back that the parade would be cancelled for the first time in its 45-year history.

However, the idea that the holiday season might be a little different this year hasn’t stopped the city from getting into the festive spirit with tree and decorations going up throughout November.
