Someone broke into Vagabond Saints Tattoo Lounge in Hamilton

It’s been a hard year in general for countless Hamilton small businesses, but one of the city’s businesses got hit extra hard over the weekend with a break-in and theft.

Vagabond Saints Tattoo Lounge & Spa, an alternative tattoo parlour and mental health safe space, recently moved its location into the former spot of Toast Wine Bar on John Street North.

The owners released security camera footage showing someone who, around 1:24 am on Sunday morning, appears to use a crowbar to pry the front door open and break into the John Street shop, stealing a cash register filled with gift certificates as well as a jacket left there by one of the shop’s employees before fleeing the scene.

The thief, who is still yet to be identified, is shown wearing a hoodie and gloves, and carrying a backpack on their back. Vagabond Saints is asking any locals to contact them if they may have any information about the theft or may know who the culprit is.

The incident is an extra hard blow for Vagabond Saints, who also recently reached out to the community for help by asking for GoFundMe donations in order to help the shop survive the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and the current lockdown.

Visit Vagabond Saints on Instagram to see more about the theft and let them know if you have any useful information regarding the incident. You can also donate to their GoFundMe campaign by clicking here.
