While everyone hunkers down for the second lockdown in Hamilton, The Hunny Pot Cannabis Co. has been working to find a way to make their products more accessible during the current restrictions in the city.
The Hunny Pot was the first cannabis retailer in Ontario to offer curbside pick-up and free same-day delivery during the first lockdown earlier this year and they are looking to execute a similar service during the current lockdown as well.
“We, of course, hoped this wouldn’t be necessary but we also started preparing for it after the GTA lockdown went into effect,” says Hunny Gawri, owner of The Hunny Pot in a statement released by the retailer.
“Having learned what works for our customers during the last lockdown, we are ready to deliver on the elevated experience they expect from us. Everyone and everything is in place to service our community in Hamilton so that, at least where cannabis is concerned, we can help keep some normalcy in their lives while ensuring the health and safety of both our customers and our team members.”
According to the Ontario Regulation 654/20, cannabis retailers are allowed to stay open during the lockdown through e-commerce, curbside pick-up, and delivery.
As of December 21st, customers from Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Ancaster, Dundas, and Grimsby can order products through The Hunny Pot website for either curbside pick-up at the Centennial Parkway North location or free same-day delivery right to their doorstep.
“We appreciate the allowances given to provincially-licensed cannabis retailers – they not only enable us to continue servicing our community and keep staff employed, but it also feels like another step in the right direction in destigmatizing our industry,” continues Gawri.
“If the goal is to surmount the illegal market, we need to be available to customers versus withholding services and forcing them to find products elsewhere.”
The Hunny Pot in Toronto was the first legal cannabis retailer in Ontario. They have since expanded and opened four more locations in Hamilton, Burlington, and Toronto.
