As news of local vaccination rollout continues, many Hamiltonians may be wondering when it might be their turn for a jab of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Though Canada has purchased millions of doses of the vaccines created by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, a phased distribution is going to take some time, with public health officials determining optimal courses of action on who to prioritize for immunization.
If you want a clearer sense of where you stand in line for the COVID-19 vaccine, a new online calculator created by Jasmine Mah and Steven Wooding, two recent MSc graduates from the University of Guelph, can help paint a relatively clear picture of when you can expect to get your shots.

Called the Vaccine Queue Calculator for Canada, users simply need to plug in some very basic demographic information and the calculator will present a timeline for when the COVID-19 vaccine is currently expected to be available to you, based on Canada’s national guidelines priority list.
For example, as a 27 year-old who works from home, I am situated in Phase 3 of Canada’s vaccine rollout plan, with the expectation that I should be able to be fully immunized with both doses of the vaccine sometime between July 2021 and September 2021.
