Hamilton asks for public feedback on proposed upgrades to playgrounds

The City of Hamilton is planning to replace some of the play structures at local public playgrounds; and they’re asking the city’s residents to weigh in on the proposed plans.

A public feedback program called ‘Play Your Way’ has been launched by the city and is asking locals, regardless of age, to weigh in on aspects of new playground proposals including particular features of their designs.

“Every year, the City identifies a select number of parks that have reached their end-of-life and need replacement,” reads a release on the City of Hamilton website.

“The new ‘Play Your Way’ program offers a family-friendly opportunity for residents across Hamilton to provide feedback and let staff know what types of equipment they would like to see as part of the new playground.”

The city is releasing online surveys on a playground-by-playground basis, starting with the current survey for Beulah Park which will be live to receive public feedback until March 19th.

From there, other Hamilton play structures in line for replacement include Victoria Park, Dofasco Park, Hayward Park, Keith Park, Red Hill Park, Father Sean Park, Dover Park, and Warden Park. Surveys for each of these parks will be released in the coming months.
