This youth centre in Grimsby got a Mike Holmes transformation

The FORT Youth Centre in Grimsby and West Lincoln will be featured on the season finale of Canadian home-reno star Mike Holmes’ newest series Holmes Family Effect.

Each episode of the new series features the Holmes family providing a much needed transformation of spaces for people who are making a difference in their communities.

In 2001, The Foundation of Resources for Teens (FORT) was established after an increase of teen suicide and depression in local communities.

Since then, the youth centre has set out to empower young people to make positive and successful life choices serving over 10,000 people in the Western Niagara region each year.

With two centres currently running, Holmes will be helping to transform the location in Smithville.

Holmes Family Effect has also helped build homes for trade teachers in Brampton, improved a co-working space for marginalized groups in Surrey, B.C., and assisted an organization that provides work clothes for young men in Vancouver.

The episode that shows Holmes taking on the FORT Youth Centre in Grimsby will be airing on Sunday, March 7th at 8 pm on CTV.
