With all schools returning to remote learning, the City of Hamilton and Ministry of Education are working together to provide free emergency child care to essential frontline workers.
Those who are looking for the emergency care of school-aged children can determine their eligibility by looking at the criteria of the provincial guidelines.

Free emergency child care starts on April 19th for those working in essential frontline jobs and health care workers.
Licensed child care including those within homes and at schools for children from the age of 0 to 3.8 years will continue during the closure.
Some workers eligible for free emergency child care include those working in health care, police, and fire; paramedics and Public Health workers; long-term care workers; HSR employees; those maintaining food, hydro, and water systems; correctional officers, and more.
The Ontario government announced the closure of in-person learning on April 13th with many students and education workers moving online.
