Hamilton’s Lime Ridge Mall is about to become a lot less magical.
That’s because The Disney Store – which has taken up prominent residence in the Hamilton Mountain shopping centre for decades – will be permanently closing its doors this coming summer along with all other Disney Store locations across Canada.

The Disney Store currently has 18 operational locations all over the country, with stores in Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, and British Columbia; five of which are in the GTA alone.
The move to close all Canadian locations of the entertainment giant’s retail stores comes as the company shifts its strategy for operations; particularly as the COVID-19 pandemic has continued to impact brick & mortar shopping experiences.
The brand will instead be focussing on e-commerce going forward, with their products and merch still available through other channels; including within Disney parks.
Lime Ridge Mall’s location of The Disney Store has been a mall mainstay and family destination for decades, and just recently underwent a massive renovation and upgrade in 2014.
Disney has indicated that all locations across Canada will be shuttered by the end of summer 2021.
