Even the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 can’t squash Pride Month celebrations in Hamilton.
The city is encouraging locals to deck their porches, balconies, and home fronts in celebratory rainbow colours in support of Pride and our local 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, bringing a blast of colour to Hamilton’s neighbourhoods for a socially distanced celebration.

The official date for Porch Pride is June 26th: an event taking place in lieu of a formal Pride Parade, during a time when large gatherings are still not permitted amid the risks of the pandemic.
Ward 3 Councillor Nrinder Nann has shared the event details on social media, urging locals to turn their porches, balconies, and windows into “your very own Pride float for a social distanced parade from home.”
Those who decorate their homes for Porch Pride can send photos, videos, and their street name to the event’s Rainbow Map by emailing porchpride2021@gmail.com.
The Rainbow Map will act as a guide for locals who want to explore the city and admire the big and bold, loud and proud Pride displays across Hamilton.
