Hundreds of soccer fans partied in the Hamilton streets yesterday

After a dramatic Euro 2020 victory, hundreds of Italy soccer fans flocked to James Street North to party after their team made it to the final of the tournament.

The Italians moved onto the Euro 2020 Final after beating Spain on penalties yesterday.

According to the Hamilton Spectator, the victory party was likely one of the largest gatherings in the area since before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fans wearing the traditional blue jersey with Italy flags waving high danced in the street on the James North strip and filled the roadway just north of Robert Street.

There was even a DJ playing from the back of a truck as Italy fans, some wearing face and body paint, danced to the tune of their team reaching their tenth final in a major tournament.

Hamilton police preemptively closed the street in anticipation for the celebrations.

The Euro 2020 Final will be played on Sunday, July 11th at 3 pm.
