A new board game cafe is opening on James Street North

Get ready to play, Hamilton: a brand new board game café is preparing to open its doors soon in the city.

The Bard and Bear is gearing up to open along the James North strip later this fall, bringing a comprehensive library of over 600 game titles to locals alongside a café-style menu of bites and beverages.

“Our library of games (600 titles and rapidly growing!) will have something for everyone, whether you’re looking for an active game, a high-strategy marathon, or a family-friendly adventure,” The Bard and Bear tells us.

While playing, guests can also take delicious advantage of The Bard and Bear’s range of sandwiches, homemade desserts, and other snacks alongside coffee, tea, espresso, local craft beer, and cider.

For those who are serious about their gaming, this new café also says they’ll offer special events like weekly Dungeons and Dragons campaigns, Magic: The Gathering Commander nights, trivia nights, and more.

A firm opening date has yet to be set, but we’d roll the dice on The Bard and Bear opening up sometime in the next few months!

Check them out on social media to stay updated.
