Hamilton library cardholders can access Art Gallery of Hamilton for free

Being a member at the Hamilton Public Library (HPL) has its perks.

On top of a free library card giving locals access to an overwhelming wealth of literature, films, music, and much more, the HPL has now partnered with the Art Gallery of Hamilton (AGH) to give library cardholders and their families complimentary access to exhibitions at the gallery.

The partnership between the HPL and AGH was announced just recently, allowing residents with an HPL Card to borrow a pass to visit the gallery with up to 6 people – or, two adults and up to four children up to 17 years of age – completely free.

The pass provides access to the art gallery for one week, allowing library cardholders and their families to experience the current exhibits and features that the AGH has to offer.

This initiative comes in addition to free access already granted to library cardholders to Hamilton’s various civic museums, including Dundurn Castle, the Hamilton Military Museum, Griffin House, the Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology, the Hamilton Children’s Museum, Battlefield House, and more.

Library cardholders can simply use their HPL membership to borrow the complimentary family pass to the art gallery. Demand for the initiative has already been high, with all 24 passes currently borrowed from the library and nearly 50 people in queue to borrow it next.
