Hamilton set to host World Cup qualifier between Canada and USA

Hamilton has been selected to host a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifier at Tim Hortons Field, where Canada’s men’s national team will go head-to-head with the USA in a pivotal match.

The news was announced on Thursday by Canada Soccer, with the match scheduled for January 30th, 2022 in the midst of a three-match window for the Canada men’s national team, who will also face Honduras on January 27th and El Salvador on February 2nd.

“We are excited to bring the Men’s National Team FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match to Hamilton in January with the team riding a nation-wide wave of support at the top of the table and after an incredible display from Edmontonians in November,” said Dr. Nick Bontis, President of Canada Soccer.

“We are looking forward to seeing a Sea of Red at Tim Hortons Field in January for the Men’s National Team’s FIFA World Cup Qualifiers as we have throughout the Final Round with our fans continuing to push the Men’s National Team to new heights.”

Tickets are not yet on sale for the exciting match, but news on that is expected in the coming weeks.
