This beloved Hamilton music store is closing its doors

One of Hamilton’s most popular music stores has just announced that it will be closing its doors at the end of this year.

Crash Landing Music, located at 1189 Cannon Street East near Ottawa Street, has been a staple spot for used vinyl records, merch by local bands, as well as music supplies and accessories ranging from guitar strings to tuners to harmonicas to drumheads.

Originally opened in 2006, Crash Landing Music announced the bittersweet news on their social media on Monday morning, having made the decision to close as the owners want to make more time for their family and friends as they approach their senior years.

“We have met and befriended soooooo many amazing people over the past 15+ years and just want to say that we have been blessed to have you in our lives,” said Crash Landing Music in their post to social media.

Thankfully, this doesn’t mean Crash Landing will be an entirely vanished Hamilton presence; the owners plan to bring their range of products to one-off events like record shows, flea markets, and sidewalk sales.

They also say their jam room will remain open to budding Hamilton musicians.

The shop is set to formally close as of January 1st, 2022, so pop by Crash Landing Music for one final browse this month!
