“The scope of work includes collecting and hauling sediment that has settled at the bottom of the stormwater management pond to a nearby waste facility,” reads a release from the City of Hamilton.
“By removing the sand, dirt, silt and other pollutants that run off the parkway into the stormwater management pond, crews are able to make improvements to the quality of the stormwater that is discharged to the natural environment, and also to the pond’s capacity to accept runoff.”
Additionally, the northbound Greenhill on-ramp to the RHVP will be closed on weekdays during this period, but will reopen to traffic on weekends.
The city warns drivers to expect minor delays, particularly during rush hour, when travelling northbound on the RHVP until the project is completed in late October.
