Two new vegan shops opened within the past week in Hamilton

Hamilton’s food scene is becoming more inclusive than ever. In the last week, Hamilton opened two – count them, two! – new vegan shops in the city. Both Lick the Whisk and Coven Plant Based Marketplace are serving up all the tasty vegan treats and coincidentally both are on Barton!
Lick the Whisk was started by two young Hamiltonians who have a passion for sweet treats. Before opening up shop, the two noticed that a couple of key things were missing from the Hamilton food scene. Firstly, there is a serious lack of dessert cafés in the city. Second, trying to find sweets as a vegan in Hamilton can get pretty challenging.
To fill this foodie void, the two opened up Lick the Whisk. The café will not only provide a warm, cozy spot to relax and eat dessert, but all of their goods will be 100% vegan.
At Lick the Whisk, you can expect a delicious variety of food that will satisfy your sweet tooth. From waffles to donuts to ice cream, you’ll be sure to find some vegan goodness to hit the spot.
Coven Plant Based Marketplace is the second vegan spot to hit the Hamilton food scene this week. Their mission is to not only make delicious and cruelty-free food, but to make a vegan’s life easier and tastier.
At Coven, you’ll find a little bit of everything. Need a few groceries? They’ve got plenty. Craving some fresh baked goods? Take your pick! Not in the mood to cook dinner? Don’t worry; pick up a grab and go box and be on your way.
Not only does Coven operate as a bakery, deli, and grocery store, but you’ll also find a variety of apparel. Currently they’re selling branded t-shirts, aprons, and a beautiful selection of Nelson Silva shoes. Coven Plant Based Marketplace is sure to become the go-to one-stop shop for Hamilton vegans.
