193 Bench Kitchen introduces new ‘Apres Lunch’ menu

Your favourite local lunchtime heroes at 193 Bench Kitchen have just expanded their daily menu and hours with the new ‘Apres Lunch’ menu, available Thursday to Saturday each week for your late-afternoon snacking pleasure.

The popular breakfast and lunch spot in the International Village on King Street East is mostly known for slinging superb sandwiches made with the highest quality, locally-sourced ingredients complemented by homemade sauce, aioli and chutney on house-baked sourdough bread.

Fan favourites include the Grimsby Smoke, a hearty take on the classic Reuben sandwich; and the Smoked Turkey, which is topped with garlic aioli and their exceptional smoked tomato chutney (Pro Tip: if you ever order Bench’s breakfast sandwich, ask them to add that tomato chutney. It’s a game changer). With vegetarian and vegan options on the menu as well, it’s no wonder 193 Bench Kitchen is such a hot spot for foodies of all stripes.

The brand new Apres Lunch menu is designed for people looking to unwind after work or grab a quick bite before a show downtown at venues like Theatre Aquarius or FirstOntario Concert Hall.

You won’t find full dinner options on offer here; rather, Bench has crafted a selection of tartines (such as one with curried cauliflower and potato smash, hummus, and green peas) and charcuterie boards made up of an assortment of house pickles, meats, cheeses, and dips.

Alongside these tantalizing snacks, Bench has also curated a selection of locally-sourced craft beer and wine, with wines chosen from the Niagara area in honour of Bench Kitchen’s original regional roots, and beers from Hamilton mainstays like Collective Arts and Fairweather Brewing.
