Hamilton’s newest brewery is officially open

Craft beer lovers, rejoice: a brand new brewery has officially opened its doors in Hamilton.

Brewers Blackbird, a complete reinvention of the famous Rousseau House restaurant in Ancaster Village, has been an ongoing project for the better part of a year. Passersby in the Village likely noticed a sizeable extension being added on to the Rousseau House building, and that original longstanding restaurant closed its doors at the beginning of November in order to complete the transformation.

And what a transformation it is! The Brewers Blackbird brewpub is establishing a decidedly more laidback vibe than Rousseau House had, and is debuting an all-new stacked menu featuring mouth-watering burgers, bowls, elevated share plates, and delicious wood-fired pizzas.

But of course, the main attraction is the beer, right?

The starting line-up is standard but sturdy, with a crushable 5.5% ABV Pale Ale and 4.6% ABV Lager on offer by the glass or in takeaway short cans. Though, like any craft brewery, we can be sure that Brewers Blackbird likely has plans to increase the line to feature other mainstays and limited seasonal releases to keep things zesty.

As Hamilton becomes a rock-solid beer destination with breweries to be proud of, there’s no doubt that Brewers Blackbird will be welcomed with open arms. Check ‘em out and raise a glass, Hamilton!

Brewers Blackbird is a 375 Wilson St East in Ancaster Village, and is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner service. Check out their menu on their website.
