Hamiltonians can now gift health workers a free box of chocolate

Self-isolation does not mean self-deprivation.

Today more than ever, we need to keep spirits high, stay connected, and support those who are on the front lines working hard to flatten the curve.

While you may not be able to grab coffee with a friend or give them a hug, one great way to brighten a loved one’s day is by sending them a box of chocolate! Hamilton’s own Chocolate Tales is offering an amazing initiative to show their appreciation and support for our medical community through their ‘Thank a Health-Care Hero Gift Pack’ program.

Here’s how it works:

  • Purchase a 24-piece box of chocolate from the Chocolate Tales website.
  • They deliver it, with free shipping to your loved one within the GTA & Hamilton. A $9 shipping fee applies to deliveries outside those areas.
  • Delivery is contactless. Their COVID-19 health and prevention policy can be found here.
  • Chocolate Tales will then send a 6-piece box of chocolate truffles to a medical facility in your name to bring some sweetness to the medical workers!

If you’ve never tried Chocolate Tales, you’re missing out. They have a fabulous selection of delicious, handmade confections, specializing in Belgian chocolate. They use Canadian and local ingredients where possible and ethically-sourced ingredients elsewhere, such as raw criollo delicacy beans from Venezuela. For more on how chocolate is made, see this article we wrote in the fall.

Chocolate Tales uses kosher as well as certified peanut, tree-nut, and sesame-free products. Upon request, they work to accommodate other food restrictions such as gluten-free and dairy-free diets. So you really can’t go wrong with their chocolate — it’s the best you will find around AND they do personalized chocolate bars as well.

Founder and chocolatier David Levy got the inspiration to make his own chocolate after trying many of the sweets from around the world as a child and during his travels. He opened his business nine years ago now and it has snowballed ever since.

Need chocolate inspiration yourself? Our mouths are drooling after watching this teaser video.

We look forward to Chocolate Tales’ famous (and educational) foodie workshops returning once the Coronavirus crisis is over. For now, the best way to support them is through online purchases — and it’s okay if the delivery address is the same as the billing address, we won’t judge.
