Mikel Coffee Company has opened its doors in Hamilton

Amid a sad string of closures for local restaurants, bars, and cafes during the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s heartening to see new spots opening up; including a new location for a European coffee chain that just opened its doors in Westdale Village.

That chain is Mikel Coffee Company, which has over 230 worldwide locations and is setting up shop in Westdale Village as its first location in Hamilton and one of the first in all of Canada.

With origins in Greece, Mikel Coffee’s menu features plenty of traditional café fare, from hot and cold coffee & tea beverages, to sandwiches, to fresh baked goods like croissants and cookies.

The Westdale Village location takes over the large corner of the plaza at King Street West and Marion Avenue North, joining the company of other neighbouring coffee spots from independent ventures like Paisley Coffee to reliable chains like Second Cup.

With a spacious outdoor patio, Mikel Coffee has already been readily embraced by the coffee-loving Hamilton community as they sit out for a physically-distanced espresso and savoury sandwich.

Want to see what the early buzz is about? Head on over to grab your first cups, Hamilton!

Mikel Coffee Company is open now at 1008 King Street West in Hamilton’s Westdale Village.
