Two Hamilton restaurants are giving free meals to grocery workers today

Another week, another awesome group of Hamilton’s frontline workers being offered free meals by two of the city’s hottest restaurants.

Now multiple weeks into this generous initiative, popular James South restaurants Mezcal and One Duke have been using one day of each week to shout out a different group of essential workers in Hamilton and offer them the chance to stop by the restaurants and grab a free meal on the house as a thank you for their invaluable service.

The awesome gesture has so far reached frontlines in groups like HSR operators, paramedics, personal support workers, firefighters, bank employees, and postal workers.

This week, Mezcal and One Duke are feeding the people who keep the rest of us fed every single day amid this pandemic: grocery store and food supplier employees.

Today between 3 pm and 8 pm, those working on the frontlines at grocery stores, supermarkets, and other food suppliers throughout Hamilton are invited to stop by either of the restaurants to pick up a free meal and receive a well-deserved, physically-distanced thank you.

The two restaurants have said this initiative will remain ongoing, with weekly recognitions of different Hamiltonian frontline workers.
