Heads up, Hamilton: two of the city’s pizza-slinging favourites are joining forces to bring you the best of both of their cheesy, doughy worlds.
NaROMA Pizza Bar and Pane Fresco, two pizza purveyors known for their rustic Roman-style slab pies, will be combining their talents in a new collaboration called PF NaROMA and launching a brand new menu of pizza goodness.
NaROMA Pizza Bar was a notable casualty of the ongoing Locke Street construction project last year which resulted in considerable dips in business for many of the street’s boutique shops and independent restaurants.
Unable to stay afloat under those damaging circumstances, NaROMA’s owner Mario Spina instead moved his pizza making operations up to Scoly’s Hometown Market on the Hamilton Mountain, where he’s been serving his iconic, lovingly made Roman-style pies ever since.
But now, the original location of Pane Fresco on Locust Street in Burlington is teaming up with Spina in a culinary collaboration that’s sure to be beyond delicious.
“We are revamping our menu. It will feature past favourites you all know and love and some new items we are excited for your to try, including Mario’s NaROMA pizza,” reads a statement from Pane Fresco and NaROMA Pizza Bar about the new partnership.
Pane Fresco Locust Street is also using this merging and revamping as an opportunity to renovate their longstanding space and update it for the COVID-19 era.
“The location is getting a facelift to allow for physical distancing, safe ordering, and comfort for all,” says Pane Fresco. “We will also have the technology in place to allow for contactless ordering and payment.”
While details of the new menu and a precise opening date are still to be revealed, NaROMA indicates that it will only be a matter of weeks until we see this enticing new collaboration finally take shape!
