The Dirty South opens its second location on Concession

Moving up from its humble food truck origins to two brick & mortar locations in Hamilton, local Southern comfort spot The Dirty South is about to power up the fryers and smokers at their brand new second location on the Hamilton Mountain.

A Hamilton street food staple since 2012, The Dirty South is best known for its travelling food truck, serving up elevated Southern-inspired dishes with a twist at all sorts of festivals, events, and private functions.

The immense popularity later led to a small storefront location opening on Barton Street near James North earlier this year, so locals craving a fried chicken & waffle sandwich or pulled pork poutine wouldn’t have to chase down the truck to get their fix.

Now, The Dirty South has also found a home uptown, with its brand new Concession Street restaurant opening in the former digs of Relay Coffee starting on Friday, November 20th at 5 pm.

Though the eventual plan is for The Dirty South Restaurant to be a full-service establishment with a sit-down menu and whiskey bar, they’re keeping things a little simpler for now amid the risks of the ongoing pandemic.

For now, The Dirty South on Concession will be operating similarly to its smaller Barton Street counterpart, offering a menu of tempting takeaway Southern comforts like brisket sandwiches, pulled pork tacos, and mac & cheese.

Locals will be able to get their nosh on with The Dirty South at 590 Concession Street starting this Friday at 5 pm by ordering in-person, online, or through delivery apps like Uber Eats and Skip the Dishes. Check ‘em out and show ‘em some dirty Southern love!
