Hamilton’s Soupfest returns for 2021 in a new format

In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, one of Hamilton’s favourite foodie festivals has announced its return in 2021; though, it’ll be in a ‘soup-er’ different format this time.

Soupfest, hosted annually in Hamilton by Living Rock Youth Resources, typically brings together hundreds of Hamiltonians to sip on soups, chilis, curries, and other winter comforts provided by an array of local restaurants and food purveyors.

Naturally, with the COVID-19 pandemic, such a large gathering isn’t safely possible; but instead of turning off the stoves and packing away the soup pots for the year, Soupfest has instead pivoted to a remote format that will still allow locals to enjoy the 2021 lineup of special soups from home while supporting local restaurants during a tumultuous time.

From January 29th to February 15th, a selection of Hamilton restaurant favourites will be offering a signature soup created specifically for Soupfest, which can be purchased for takeout directly from the restaurants and enjoyed comfortably from home.

Soup lovers will also be able to vote for their favourite soups online to win the top honours at Soupfest for 2021.

Participating restaurants this year include The Burnt Tongue, State & Main, West Plains Bistro, radius, Royal Botanical Gardens, Two Cougars and a Café, Paramount Fine Foods, The Thirsty Cactus, Taylor’s Tea Room, Chef Nina’s Creative Kitchen, Stuffed, and Maria’s Tortas Jalisco.

I’m sure we could all use some warm and cozy comfort food this tough winter, so make sure to support your local favourites this year through Soupfest 2021!
