Portuguese restaurant Conquistador is closing its doors in Hamilton

One of Hamilton’s long-standing, well-loved restaurants for Portuguese cuisine has announced that it will be closing its doors permanently.

Conquistador, a family-owned restaurant located on the Hamilton Mountain at 542 Upper Wellington, has been a homey local favourite for Portuguese bites for more than 14 years.

It was announced on their website this week that, sadly, Conquistador is set to wind down operations and permanently close up shop after February 14th, leaving countless Hamilton foodies heartbroken for the loss of a meaningful local favourite.

“When we opened our doors over 14 years ago, we never imagined how many lunches and dinners we would have helped you serve your friends and family,” said Conquistador in a note on their website.

“When we first opened our restaurant, it was to bring a big flavour from a small town in Portugal. We soon learned this little place on the Mountain transitioned into a place for strangers to gather; strangers who became friends who turned into family.”

Conquistador is known for its Portuguese inspired menu of hearty steak and seafood dishes among other homestyle comforts; a menu that maintained this restaurant as an enduring staple for local food lovers.

Read more on the restaurant’s website and place those final orders for takeout or delivery through Skip the Dishes before they close permanently after February 14th!
