Hamilton foodies are in luck, as a popular chain for Korean street food is preparing to open its doors in the city.
Chung Chun Rice Hot Dog, with existing and beloved Canadian locations in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal, has announced a brand new location right here in Hamilton, taking up residence in Westdale Village at 1051 King Street West in the former home of Buffed Nail Bar.

So what exactly is a rice hot dog, you ask? Similar to a corndog, the Korean-style rice dogs are rolled in sticky rice flour batter, then coated in panko crumbs and deep fried.
From there, the rice hot dogs can be decked out in a number of enticing toppings, including dried ramen noodle bits, crispy fried potatoes, and squid ink.
The rice dogs can also be stuffed with even more deliciousness, with the option to add melty mozzarella or cheddar and kick things up a notch.
Chung Chun’s rice dogs have become a popular, coveted street food option in their existing locations, and there’s no doubt that the popularity will be just as strong among Hamilton foodies looking for something a little different.
