Frosty’s Fish & Chips in Dundas is closing after 78 years

A pure slice of nostalgia in Hamilton has announced that it closing its doors permanently after nearly 80 years in business.

Frosty’s Fish & Chips, a tiny and charming spot in the heart of Downtown Dundas, has remained a local favourite for homemade, unpretentious, reasonably priced fish & chips, chicken fingers, fries, ice cream, and more.

Originally opened in 1946, Frosty’s and their made-to-order, diner-style comfort food has gone strong to this day; even the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic haven’t impacted business much at this Dundas mainstay.

In fact, Frosty’s current owner – Kevin Small – recently told The Toronto Star that the decision to close wasn’t really based on the pandemic at all; rather, it was simply time to say goodbye.

A firm closing date of July 17th has been set for the fish & chip shop, giving locals and long-time supports time to get one last order or two in before Frosty’s bids farewell to the community it has called home for 78 fruitful years.

Frosty’s Fish & Chips is located at 142 King Street West in Downtown Dundas. Check them out and place a takeaway order before they’re gone!
